Only a few days left for the biggest festival of West Bengal-Durga Puja. Every Bengali enjoy this time with family & friends while expressing deepest reverence and adoration for deity Durga. This festival combines our every emotion, be it the happiness of friends & family reunion or madness with shopping or enjoying pandel whopping & also the melancholy feeling while giving a euphoric farewell to the goddess, with tears in eyes.

Durga puja is also a perfect time to make impressive fashion statements.  Especially for a woman, it's the time to go desi. Most of them prefer to go for traditional wear to look ethnic & beautiful in this auspicious time. And no other attire comes in mind except for a beautiful Bengali traditional saree.

Before flocking into all the shops to find the best saree to flaunt in this Durga puja let me take you through the array of classic Bengali sarees, perfectly designed for the Durga puja.

1. Tant:

A Bengali traditional saree & has been a perennial favorite among all the Bengali women. Tant sarees are specifically made by the weavers from Nadia, Murshidabad & Hooghly of West Bengal. Most of us have a memory of wiping our faces in maa's or dida's anchol which was a tant saree. Although the tant sarees have evolved dramatically over the years to prove the concept wrong that " tant sarees are for grannies". The latest tant sarees which are beautifully crafted with trendy designs are equally popular in younger. Especially in the morning of Astomi while offering flowers to mata or on the very Dashami, with the correct accessories tant is a definite winner among others.
